Very wet half marathon

Not the most glamorous photo I know, but it was snapped when I’d just finished running a half marathon on Sunday. I am back in the UK for a month between the Alpine seasons and thought that I’d test how the training was going. I’d never run a half marathon road race, and this one was local. It had been very very very rainy on the week leading up to the race, which wasn’t the greatest surprise oop north! Anyway on the day there were several hundred meters of lanes that were flooded over ankle deep, which meant running with very heavy soggy trainers – nice! Enough of the excuses. I finished in 1 hour 43 minutes, which was fine and to recover I went walking in the Lake District for the next three days. The legs hurt properly now.
