I’m finally at the end of my summer season guiding in the Alps, and with low cloud and rain in Chamonix today, it feels like the inter-season too. A massive thank you to all those clients I’ve run with, especially those on the Icicle Alpine Trail Running Camps who have been great to work with. On my last week of trail running with one of these groups, I made a short film of one of the days, which you can see below. It was on one of my favourite trails, and part of the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, and the weather was just perfect.
Now my thoughts are moving to Autumn, and what races to run in to keep the motivation and training up. As I’m soon travelling back to the Lake District, one race I’ve been looking at is the Grizedale 26 Ultra. After the mud and rain of this years UTMB, I think I’m well prepared for running in the Lakes. I’m not underestimating the race for a second, as modest though the hills may be, I’ve had some of the toughest days out in the UK fells.
